Marstair MRC+ added to the Energy Technology List
Marstair, a division of TEV Ltd., have just announced that with effect from the 1st October their MRC+ range of 13 units from size 50 to 180 have been added to the Energy Technology List and as such are eligible for the Government’s Enhanced Capital Allowance. The Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) scheme will provide 100% tax relief for the MRC+ Refrigeration Condensing Unit product range, in the same tax year as the purchase is made. As well as the added tax incentive, investing in the MRC+ product range could reduce a company’s energy bills. A further benefit still would be the reduction in a company’s Climate Change Levy, thus providing significant long-term savings from the initial investment in the product. Chris Chisman, Marstair’s Operations Manager explained that “customers would now be able to benefit from all the design work carried out by our engineers to make sure our products are some of the most efficient in the market”. MRC+ LT Range of Condensers able to deliver evaporating conditions down to -40°C
Marstair the Packaged Air Conditioning and Refrigeration DX Division of TEV Ltd, an up and coming player in the commercial refrigeration market with its MRC range of condensing units, recently launched their new MRC+(LT) product.
Suitable for a variety of applications, the MRC(+) is suitable for evaporating conditions down to -15°C and its MRC+LT low temperature range is suitable for applications requiring evaporating conditions down to -40°C. Perfect for freezer applications requiring chilled conditions.
The standard MRC range uses a mixture of Copeland scroll and L’unite Hermetique reciprocating compressors and offers single phase capacities of up 8.83kw, and three phase capacities of up to 17.92kw (evaporating 0°C R404a, 32°C ambient).
The MRC unit specification includes; a weatherproof housing, fitted suction and liquid valves, fan speed head pressure control., Auto HP switch (alarm output), LP switch, low ambient start, three minute start delay timer, random start, contactor, crankcase heater (reciprocating only), and a liquid receiver. The MRC+(LT) has all of the benefits of the standard MRC unit, with the addition of a fitted sight glass, drier, compressor jacket, noise attenuation insulation, and a unit mounted isolator, making it the perfect solution for noise sensitive applications.
The MRC range is available off the shelf from your Marstair distributor or for further information on the range please contact Marstair’s Sales Department. Tev Limited, of which Marstair is a Division, nominated for a Sustainable UK Manufacturing Award
As a UK manufacturer, the Company has been nominated as a finalist for the Sustain' Magazine Sustainable UK Manufacturing Award. The Directors of the company are delighted with the nomination and look forward to the Award Announcement in London on 3rd March 2009. Marstair - the choice for all weathers
As we head out of winter towards spring many people consider that air conditioning is not as much of a priority, yet much of our range is in season all year round. Our CX Cellarators cool cellars to precise temperatures every day of the year, our CD3 range is ideal for computer suites which also need year round controlled temperature control. Our MRC+ range is able to be integrated with convenience store refrigeration units, also a year round requirement! Even our Eco+ heat pump system provides winter heating as well as summer cooling all in one unit - perfect for conservatories, shops or cafes. So whatever the weather, Marstair is never out of season! TEV employee wins local Apprentice of the Year and Engineer of the Year Award
Tev’s engineering apprentice, David Moorhouse has been named Apprentice of the Year and Engineer of the Year by Kirkdale Industrial Training Services at an awards ceremony at Galpharm Stadium in West Yorkshire.
David, 21, has been celebrating with colleagues and is delighted to be awarded this on the final year of his HND Engineering course.
“I was so surprised! I’ve worked hard on the course but when I attended the ceremony I thought it was just to receive my certificate. Winning two awards and a free laptop made it a brilliant evening!” said David.
David joined TEV as an apprentice engineer in 2003 and works in the design and engineering department for TEV at their Brighouse site in West Yorkshire. Working on the development of the Quartz range of products, which were the recent choice for the air-conditioning system at the new St Pancras Station, London has given David great practical experience alongside his studies.
“It was a great opportunity for me to be able to join TEV just after leaving school. The team is great, the Company have been so supportive in my training and an apprenticeship has given me the best of both worlds, working and training all at the same time.” David added.
The Engineering Manager, Chris Chisman also added; “As a company TEV are very committed to developing staff through apprenticeship training which enables us as a UK design and manufacturing company to be developing skills for the future in the UK. We are really proud of David as he has worked so hard and is such an asset to the team!” Marstair launch the MRC+
Following the success of the MRC refrigeration condensing units launched in 2006, the new MRC+ unit is an even more effective cooling solution for food display cabinets and many other refrigeration applications. With a higher specification and lower noise levels it meets the continuing growing demands in the industry. The higher specification for the MRC+ includes five new components; A sight glass and a refrigeration dryer avoiding the need for installing these remotely to the unit. An isolator which is IP66 rated and manufactured to BS EN 60947-3-1 standard. The isolator is fitted to the case of the unit, thus enabling local maintenance. The MRC+ also boasts as standard a compressor jacket and noise attenuation insulation, both of which significantly reduce sound levels. All units in the range are supplied with a nitrogen charge, as with the MRC range, so that the installer can select the appropriate refrigerant. The new MRC+ is the perfect choice for cooling in many applications and is available now. Please contact our team for more details.
